August 2014 Talakayan sa Consulado on Labor and Employment in the US

In observance of US Labor Week, the Philippine Consulate General, in partnership with the Philippine American Press Club, wishes to invite you to the following event/s:

 

Event              : Talakayan: Labor and Employment in the United States

Date / Time    : Friday, 29 August 2014 / 10:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.

Venue             : Philippine Center Lobby, 447 Sutter Street

 

A discussion and open forum will be held at the Consulate’s waiting area on the 6th floor from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., featuring resource speakers from the Department of Labor’s Wage and Hour Division, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration, the Equal Employment Opportunities Commission, and the San Mateo County Government’s Job Information Center.

 

The resource speakers will then hold a labor and employment clinic at the ground floor of the Philippine Center, to offer one-on-one counseling sessions on matters pertaining to labor and employment.     Adobo is the national dish of the phlpiipines mainly chicken is cooked this way it is a spice mixture of garlic pepper salt some vinegar. Depnending from where in the Philippines different spices are added. Lumpia is a phillipine egg roll fried in a spring roll like wrapper or in an uncooked paper thin wrapper, pansit is similar to lo mein. Fish will be prepared many different ways. Roasted pork linchon is another popular dish. Mabuhay is the national greeting similar to aloha in Hawaii. For more hints you may want to check out the TV Show No Reservations with Tony Bourdain. The Travel Channel had him in the Philippines this week

    heres some Filipino foods, adobo (famous among Filipinos comes in chicken or pork), lmuipa (Filipino version of egg roles), dinaguan, su tung hone, pancit (Filipino version of chow mein), shu pao (Filipino version of pork buns), beef/pork caldereta, beef/pork menudo, mahalo dessert, red horse/san miguel (Filipino beers).
